Profile:
On a cold, late, November evening, Joshua Hanford and Christos Schizas sat in a living room a drafted an ambitious blueprint. This blueprint contained the process and plans that would give birth to a following. This website would set out to change how Detroit is viewed, to prove to the world that Detroit isn’t a shell of it’s former self, but a living, breathing ecosystem, teaming with life ––That life being artists, musicians, dancers, gallery owners and more. “Movin’ on up”, the theme song from The Jeffersons was the chosen track for the evening.
Days later DetroitExposure.com was born and since it’s inception, it has seen many forms and many changes, the latest version being our best yet. Almost immediately after DE was born, JohnB was brought aboard, creating a robust trio of talent. He has helped shape the direction of the website into what it is today, and helped give birth to our studio location and studio site, DetroitExposureStudio.com. The rest of our crew consists of Alvyn Maranan a talented photographer that always keeps us on the precipice of style. The amazing Marcus Greene has our video production at a top notch level, and a handful of interns that assist with event coverage. (Meaghan Bruton, Craig Hejka, Jordan Berger, and Stephanie Lee)
Detroit Exposure takes full advantage of what any event has to offer. We are dedicated to capturing live events journalistically. We revel in the art, the music, and the people. We take pride in our ability to capture the atmosphere everyone remembers, while promoting beauty and cultural education. Also, we have no governing force to handicap our motivation.
Home is where the heart is.
