The Will Sessions band will pay tribute to the heavyweight King of Afrobeat, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, with a 13 piece ensemble culled from Detroit and Nigerian musicians.
Joining will be featured guest Adeboye Adegbenro on lead vocals and saxophone.
Boye (as he is commonly known), who originates from Fela’s hometown of Abeokuta, was a frequent guest with Fela & Egypt 80 at the infamous Shrine club in Lagos. He currently fronts Detroit’s popular Afrobeat ensemble, ODU. He is the real deal!
Boye brings with him the African Assembly, a group of Nigerian-born percussionists and singers, further solidifying the Afrobeat groove.
Will Sessions band will also be playing a set of funk 45 covers to keep you movin!
